First aid-basic procedures
External Bleeding
-In case of external bleeding, use gauze pad over the wound until clotting occurs.
-In case of severe bleeding, if seems life threatening for the animal, apply tourniquet for 30seconds to 15-18 minutes. (This is an extreme measure, so be careful and very sure before using. Use it in case of hemorrhaging of limbs, or such life threatening cases only, else the limb might be amputated.).

Internal Bleeding
In case of internal bleeding, like from the nose, coughing blood, etc., try to keep the animal as warm and quiet as possible.

Fractures
-If your pet is suffering g from a broken limb or a broken leg, or any other kind of fractures, you need to do the following.
-Lie the animal down on a clean surface padded with blankets.
-If there is a fracture, do not try to fix it.
-If the animal is suffering from a broken limb, then wrap the leg, first with cotton pads and then with towel or newspaper and then wrap it with a tape.
-Restrict the blood flow by wrapping up the leg.
-If spine, hip, etc. are broken, in that case it is better to immobilize the animal.

Burns
In case of burns, quickly apply ice water bags and if necessary, treat for shock.
